I have over ten years of academic, creative and non-fiction writing experience, publishing in newspapers, literary journals and online. For more information feel free to visit TriciaAres.com.
About myself:
Born in Portland, Maine, my gypsy blood has lead me up and down the east coast and to foreign soil, living in New Hampshire, Georgia, and Florida and studying abroad in both England and Mexico. I enjoy meeting new people and immersing myself in different cultures. My travels have taught me the value of community and the need to live cooperatively instead of competitively.
My Personal Mission Statement:
As I manifest my destiny, I weigh each decision against these guiding principles:
As an artist, it is my duty to be fearless in my self-expression and to discover the ancient path of the feminine narrative.
As a spiritual being, I take comfort in connecting with the universal whole.
As an individual, it is my obligation to seek new opportunities to challenge my intellect and honor my body as a sanctified temple.
As a mother, it is my sacred duty to cherish my daughter while facilitating her own self-discovery.
As a wife, it is my honor to appreciate the gift of my husband’s companionship while serving as a source of strength, joy, and inspiration.
As a member of society, it is my task to model the benefits of cooperative coexistence.

Why thank you Maria. I’m ok with that comment as long as I don’t LOOK 106.

I love your mission statement, and you have a beautiful blog site. THanks for providing your link in the FWA’s forum.
Also, I believe we do write on similiar topics. I have a bachelor’s in English and women’s studies minors and hope to one day go on and earn my masters.
Thanks for the great info.

Hi there Tricia. What a beautiful, unashamedly feminine site. Have you ever tried submitting work to Mslexia magazine? http://www.mslexia.co.uk I’ve never done so myself, as I try to maintain a non-gender-specific profile (I teach men and women) but some of my friends have been published through them.

Hi Tricia,
How about a post on markets for feminist writing? I would link to it from my site.

Thanks for the writers’ resources. And thanks for the reminder that there are other women who love books and words. All the best with your own literary pursuits.

Hi!
I just found your site searching something or another about Virginia Woolf.
Anyway, from the few posts of your that I’ve read, can I just say that I love it?!
I am a sophomore in college, potential english major, and I am currently working on this ever so wonderful research paper(which could potentially turn into my senior thesis) about Ms. Woolf and Gertrude Stein, and modern women writers.
thought I’d share that.
Have a great day!
